Nukari
To talk about Nayarit is to talk about tradition, history, and a culinary richness that enchants those who discover it. From the seafood dishes of San Blas to the ancestral recipes of the Magical Towns in the mountains, every corner of the state has something unique to offer at the table.
At Nukari Quinta Boutique, we believe gastronomy is an essential part of the hospitality experience, and we draw inspiration from the legacy of one of the most important voices in Mexican cuisine: Chef Betty Vázquez. Her vision of respect for local products, creativity, and passion for cooking are principles that also define what we offer in our restaurants in Jala.
Chef Betty Vázquez, born in San Blas, Nayarit, has dedicated her life to promoting Mexican cuisine and rescuing the culinary traditions of her homeland.
Her training at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris gave her the technical tools of classic French cuisine, but her essence as a cook has always been tied to the flavors of Nayarit. After her international experience, she decided to return to San Blas to open El Delfín, the family restaurant inside Hotel Garza Canela, which over the years has become a gastronomic landmark of Riviera Nayarit.
For more than eight years, Chef Betty was part of the jury on MasterChef Mexico, a program that made her one of the most beloved and respected chefs in the country. With her direct yet warm style, she conveyed the value of Mexican cuisine to millions of viewers, inspiring both contestants and audiences.
Today, although no longer part of the program, she remains active in promoting Nayarit’s gastronomy, participating in festivals, congresses, and international culinary events. Her role goes beyond cooking—she is also a cultural ambassador for Nayarit and Mexico worldwide.
Nayarit is a state with a privileged geography, stretching from the Pacific coast to the Sierra Madre Occidental mountains. This diversity is reflected in its cuisine:
Chef Betty has embraced this richness to create a cuisine with identity: she respects her homeland’s recipes but is not afraid to experiment with new techniques or combinations, always with the goal of enhancing the natural flavor of each product. That same philosophy inspires the culinary proposal at Nukari Quinta Boutique: dishes born from the heart of Nayarit that tell a story with every bite.
At Nukari Quinta Boutique, we understand that gastronomy is not just an additional hotel service, but an experience that complements and enriches each guest’s stay.
Our restaurants offer an intimate space where boutique hospitality merges with regional flavor. Each menu is designed with fresh ingredients, carefully selected from local markets and regional producers.
Just like Chef Betty’s philosophy, we strive for a cuisine that does not mask flavors, but elevates them. Freshly baked bread, dishes that honor Jala’s family recipes, and the opportunity to enjoy sunset dinners overlooking the Ceboruco volcano make every dining experience at Nukari unforgettable.
Our diners don’t just taste a dish—they discover a piece of the history, culture, and spirit of Nayarit.
The influence of Chef Betty goes beyond San Blas. Her work has inspired many chefs and projects in the state, who today embrace a gastronomic model with a strong local identity. At Nukari, we take that inspiration as a guide to create a culinary offering that respects tradition while inviting sensory exploration.
The chef has said on multiple occasions that cuisine is “a vehicle for storytelling.” This vision aligns with Nukari’s mission: every guest who sits at our table becomes part of a story that blends tradition, innovation, and hospitality.
Jala, recognized as a Magical Town, is famous for its cultural and natural richness, and gastronomy is central to that experience. Staying at Nukari Quinta Boutique also means gaining access to a cuisine inspired by the best of Nayarit and by figures like Chef Betty, who have brought international recognition to local flavors.
Whether enjoying a breakfast made with fresh regional ingredients, a romantic rooftop dinner, or a moment of introspection in our restaurant, the gastronomic experience at Nukari goes beyond the everyday—it is a journey of connection with the land, the roots, and the identity of our state.
We invite you to discover the culinary proposal of Nukari Quinta Boutique in the heart of Jala. A cuisine inspired by tradition, enriched by the flavors of Nayarit, and guided by the legacy of Chef Betty, who has helped place Nayarit’s cuisine on the world map.
